Whenever possible, I participate in programs that facilitate mentoring between senior and junior faculty, faculty and students, and academia and public life. I have a particular interest in mentoring underrepresented groups to start and succeed in science. Here are some of the programs I have participated in, either as mentee or mentor.

For undergraduate students:
Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) in Political Science
The Summer Program in Accountability, Behavior, and Conflict in Democratic Politics is an REU site supported by the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF). The program’s goals are to (1) provide mentored social science research experiences on topics related to accountability, behavior, and conflict in democratic politics among a diverse group of students and faculty; (2) build students’ interest, skillsets, and knowledge regarding the development and communication of social science research; (3) prepare and support students as they advance along career paths that involve the production, presentation, and informed consumption of social science research.

Research on Conflict and Collective Action (ROCCA) Lab
Undergraduate political science research lab at Vanderbilt University. Students may participate in collaborative research teams with Faculty Mentors, advancing in the lab toward producing their own research products.
